Traveling from Bangkok to Krabi: Your Options

While Krabi has no train station, you can take a train to Surat Thani and then a bus to Krabi. From Surat Thani, a local bus takes approximately three hours to reach Krabi.

If you're heading to an island in Krabi province, you'll need to take a ferry. Ferries depart from various piers in Krabi, taking about two hours to reach the Phi Phi islands. High-speed catamarans can make the trip in 90 minutes but offer less freedom to move around due to higher speeds. Booking a combination ticket that includes a bus to Krabi and a ferry to the islands is possible, and it's wise to reserve in advance during the high season to avoid delays.
